What Is the Moisture Test and How Do You Do It?

Overview

It is important to test the moisture content of concrete before applying a coating, as the coating may not adhere properly or may fail prematurely if the concrete is too wet.

We use a moisture meter; a device that is used to measure the amount of moisture in concrete.

If the moisture content of the concrete is too high, you will need to take steps to dry it out before applying a coating. This can be done by using a fan or dehumidifier, or by opening windows and doors to allow the concrete to air dry. Once the concrete is dry, we can then apply the coating.
